HI THERE, I AM

Natalia Donhefner

I cannot pinpoint the exact moment my passion for photography took root—perhaps it began in youth with the coarse mechanics of a Zenit, or later, with the simplicity of compact cameras in hand. The true turning point, however, came during my gap year in Chicago, when I held my first Nikon film camera. That moment sparked a journey, leading me deeper into the Nikon system over the years and through the full suite of courses at Nikon Academy. Along the path, the human connections that shape us became my greatest inspiration. I had the privilege of learning from remarkable photographers —Tomasz Tomaszewski, Paweł Chara, Michał Leja—and more recently, the evocative artistry of Anita Andrzejewska and Andrzej Pilichowski-Ragno shaped the way I frame the world through my lens.

In the frenetic swirl of today’s fast-paced world, photography offers me sanctuary—a portal into realms often overlooked. With a camera, I learn to witness the unseen, to capture fleeting instants of magic that would otherwise dissolve into the flow of time. The camera, after all, is not merely a tool—it is an instrument of vision, teaching us how to truly see, even when the lens is no longer between us and the world.

I don’t have a philosophy. I have a camera. I look into the camera and take pictures. My photographs are the tiniest part of what I see that could be photographed. They are fragments of endless possibilities.
